#KORENMOLEN 😍 The history of #Nijeveen dates back to 1477. In 1977 the 500th anniversary of Nijeveen was celebrated. On this occasion, H.R.H. Prince Claus reopened the wheat mill “De Sterrenberg” from Germany and rebuilt in Nijeveen in 1977. The mill is owned by the municipality of Meppel. With this, the village had two mills between 1990 and 2009; the other mill was demolished in 2009 and moved to New Zealand. Nijeveen is a village in the Dutch province of Drenthe. The village has an area of over 25 km2.
Nijeveen was an independent municipality which also included the villages Kolderveen, Nijeveense Bovenboer and Kolderveense Bovenboer. Since the municipal redivision in 1998, Nijeveen c.a. is part of the municipality of Meppel. The last mayor of Nijeveen was Henk van der Woude. Some of the more than 3600 inhabitants are Protestant Christian, the remaining inhabitants are from another church or unchurch.
