Modelling (a The Sims 2 One-Shot)

This one-shot is based on my friend Chrissy Brown's Sims 2 gameplay. I hope you like it!

MODELLING

Xavier Goth had been a model in his youth. They had scouted him in Belladonna Cove back when he had been a University student. He would never forget a woman approaching him and asking him whether he was interested in being a model. She had thought he would be the perfect one for a local store's website. Xavier had agreed, having never had such an experience before.

Sadly, his modelling career had been unsuccessful. At least to the modelling agent he had. But Xavier didn't see it that way. He had helped a local clothing business launch by being a model for their website. Because of him, the store had become popular amongst young men who needed formal attire for a prom or a date night. The owners of the store and the designers would be forever grateful to him.

Years later, Xavier was now happily married and had four children. One of them, however, he thought, would make an excellent model. With her long blonde hair and tanned skin, Diana reminded him of the young Californian girls. He wondered whether or not modelling agencies would like to work with her.

"You know, Di?", he told his daughter one day, "You could be a model."

Diana raised her head from the book she was reading, "Really? Do you think so? But isn't the industry a toxic one?"

Xavier could see her point. Indeed, there were dangers in the modelling industry. But it didn't mean that it wasn't worth a try. Besides, modelling didn't have to turn out in a danger to one's body or self-esteem. It could simply be done for life experience.

"It doesn't have to be like that," he began, "Besides, there's nothing wrong with trying new things."

Diana agreed with her father with a smile on her face. On the inside, she was excited to try it, especially after hearing her father's experience. Who knew? Maybe she would have fun with it? Or she could become a professional model and have her photographs be in popular magazines? Either way, she wanted to try. If her father thought she could, then so be it.

After researching the best agencies for young models, Xavier and Diana found the nearest - in Belladonna Cove. It was the same agency where Xavier had found his modelling gigs. To him, It felt like it was a sign.

Early in the next morning, a father and a daughter would bond even more in an unexpected way.

"This is my daughter, Diana", Xavier proudly introduced her to the modelling agent. The young girl politely shook hands with the agent, who was impressed.

However, simply meeting with an agent wasn't enough. Diana would need a portfolio. For that, she would have to have several photoshoots.

"She is amazing!", the photographer complimented on the day of the photoshoot. Indeed, Diana was a natural. Perhaps, she would have a stroke of better luck than her father? Only time would tell.

Indeed, young Diana had more luck than her father. Soon, after her photos were shared among scouts, she got her first modelling gig. And then another after another.

Everyone could agree that she was a lucky girl.
