Monaco: What's Yours Is Mine Review

Monaco: My Own is a hideout game developed by Pocketwatch Games. Released for Windows on April 24, 2013, Xbox 360 on May 10, 2013 and expected to be released on Mac later. The game revolves around making a heist using a variety of special characters where each has his or her own set of special abilities. The game is played in a horizontal way where the player can only see locations in their line of sight. The player can open the doors and be able to sneak in without making any noise but moving at a slower pace. At each level, players must avoid guards who will try to stop the player.

At the beginning of each level, you can choose from a list of characters for each special character. From the beginning of the game, a locksmith, packer, cleaner and lookout are available. A locksmith can lock any door, safes, cash registers and ATMs faster than any other character. The pickpocket is able to send his pet monkey, Hector, to catch coins that will not warn the guards and can hide in a tree quickly. The cleaner is able to take out unexpected enemies quickly and use medi-kits quickly. The lookout is able to see every level NPC where it slips and is able to get through holes, open windows and stairs quickly. As the game progresses, you will be able to unlock the mole (which can dig through walls), the gentleman (who can hide when he is in hiding), the hacker (who can make viruses on the exit walls) and the redhead (who can attract one enemy and silence them).

All in all, I found the game very exciting. Like most maest, you can't plan everything. Even with a group of four, the heist may go faster and smoother but you can't control every little thing. One can slip and the whole heist goes down the ditch. Trying to stay in the shade and stay as secretive as possible, you can pass the heist smoothly and without major problems. The game can be played on your own or in a partnership that may involve between 2 and 4 players online or through a local co-op.
