Month of the national artist

#music June begins and Venezuela celebrates the month of the national artist.
This celebration has its origin in the famous Decree 598, dated 3 December 1974, which established a mandatory programming of 50% national music on all broadcasters in the country. This Decree popularly known as the 1X1, which stated that sound broadcasting stations are obliged to include in their daily musical programs 50% of Venezuelan music in its various manifestations: folk, typical or popular.
This decree sought the strengthening of national identity in the relay generation through their music, and the promotion of young artists .
On 7 December 2004, the Law on Social Responsibility in Radio and Television, known as the RESPERA Act, entered into force, which states that national production will have ample space within the Venezuelan radio station, and that Venezuelan musical works must also be allocated to the dissemination of Venezuelan musical works, where the authors must be identified, performers and music genre .
In this post I want to send a great congratulations to all musicians, in the Month of the National Artist, although we know that there is not much to celebrate.
