More or fewer babies?
Here they are: couples from the 'elite' that reproduce to save humanity
With birth rates worldwide in freefall, “pronatalists” in Silicon Valley want to stop that decline by having as many babies as possible. Billionaires like Elon Musk want to save humanity by conceiving many superior children — an intelligent elite must take the lead
Elon Musk, one of the richest people in the universe, who has ten children by three different women, is undoubtedly the most famous person with pronatalistic ideas. “Note my words,” Musk said at a business summit in December 2021, “if people don't have more children, civilization will crumble.’
He described the population decline as “the biggest danger” to humanity — more than climate change — and warned that Japan, with one of the world's lowest birth rates, “will eventually cease to exist”.
World population will grow until 2064 and will decline thereafter '
The world population is the total number of living people on Earth. According to the UN, this number exceeded 8 billion by mid-November 2022, with an annual increase of 83 million, around 11%. Around 227,000 people are added every day.
By 2064, the world population is estimated to be 97 billion people. By 2100, however, we are “only” 88 billion. This is evident from an extensive analysis published in The Lancet magazine. The findings are somewhat surprising. For example, a United Nations report last year suggested that the world population would be 1088 billion people by 2100. The new estimates are as much as 2 billion heads lower. According to the researchers, this can be traced, among other things, to the unprecedented rate at which fertility rates (the average number of children born per woman) in Sub-Saharan Africa are declining.
