Motorcycle vacation
It was 1996:
We dated three months when we went on vacation. On the bike, of course!
I made some piles of the clothes that had to take with me - picked out two pairs of shoes - carefully looked at which makeup I would bring and I put my brush ready, with some pins.
Cees would come by that night to bring a suitcase - I could stuff that suitcase full of my luggage.
Naaahhhh, I thought I was getting a rolling when he was at the door! Cees arrived with a small suitcase! That didn't fit even half of what I had laid out.
Cees saw the surprise on my face and asked what I expected. I forced myself to be very satisfied with the offered and thanked him exuberantly for this grand gesture - I got the top suitcase anyway!
Not much went into it more than one pair of shoes, enough clean underwear, a pair of shirts - detergent in a tube, socks, toothbrush, brush and a pair of elastics.
It just had to...
Two days later, we left. It seems to have been a very beautiful holiday - the Vosges are very beautiful. Also the roads there - with lots of hairpin bends - are so horribly beautiful..., shines.
I don't know much about that vacation. In any case, I saw quite little: my glasses were still on my bed, in my room. But I didn't have the heart to tell Cees...
Ohhh people, what was I tired? Gruthfully tired, so tired that I spent the rest of the trip sleeping on the back of the bike.
Packed between three suitcases (on both sides against my legs and the top suitcase against my back), my arms wrapped around Cees, my hands stuffed under the belt of his jacket and my helmet against his helmet, I was at best. If I hung a little too far aside, he'd give me a push. And if there was anything really beautiful to see, he stopped to wake me up.
“Look, lady, pretty, huh?” I would squeeze my eyes together and then peered into the distance.
“Beautiful”, I said, looking at the outlines in the distance, “very beautiful... “, to go back to sleep.
