You can't think of it that crazy, but a mushroom can also be made of 2 pieces of aluminum foil and some plaster powder! For children, this is a very fun process to do, from nothing you make something! In this case, that “something” is a nice mushroom, if you also give it a lick of paint. Do you make a fly agaric (the red and white dots mushroom) or make it your own fantasy mushroom? Or a mushroom house with cute windows and a door, where the gnomes live? You can come up with it yourself!

This method of making the basic shape of aluminum foil is not new, but certainly inspiring. After all, you can make all the shapes you want in this way. That's why we're happy to show it to you here. What do you need? Just aluminum foil, gypsum powder, some paper napkins/tissues.

The craft tip was submitted by Janette from jaka3990, you can find her account HERE . Janette explains:

  • First form the basic mold with 2 pieces of aluminum foil. Shape the stem and form a hat.
  • Mix some gypsum powder with water (ratio about 1 part water to 2 parts gypsum powder) and turn it into a thick yogurt paste.
  • Dip the napkins in the paste and wrap them around the molds
  • Let the shapes harden. This does not take very long, plaster dries quite quickly.
  • Paint the parts if they are still loose. First white, then the hat red over it again. (With a white background, the colors you choose always look nice and fresh!)
  • After dyeing, glue the parts together with a glue gun. (Note: Not for small children and only gluing with adult supervision)
