My American roots and love for Bluegrass music, got me to play with Velvet Joe & The Bluegrass Diamonds. Bluegrass music is a genre of American roots music that developed in the 1940s in the United States. Bluegrass has roots in traditional English, Scottish and Irish ballads and dance tunes, and in traditional African-American blues and jazz.
Our band members are:
Joris Scheepers (leadsinger and guitar), Miep Oude-Aost (banjo and singing), Neeltje van Diggele (contrabass and singing), Florianne van Hasselt (mandolin and singing), Melissa Ussery (violin and singing).
