Muziekbos Ronse: Address and Restaurant
It Music Forest, adjacent to the Sint-Pietersbos, is a nature reserve in the Flemish Ardennes (Ronse) in South East Flanders (Belgium). The forest area consists of the 52 hectares of Muziekbos and the 57 hectares of St. Peter's Forest. The name Muziekbos originally has nothing to do with music. The “Muz” in the word Muziekbos does refer to the Celtic “swamp”, a soggy patch of land nestled between water. Boshyacinths or blue stocking create an impressive floral carpet around April/May! The story goes that the Romans, who left many traces here, were convinced that the muses (goddesses of arts and sciences) lived on this mountain. According to some romantic souls, it was the “minnesgame of the wind with the trees” that took care of the music.
