My tree bumblebee has been living here for 2 weeks now, so it's time for another small update. If you missed the whole story about how and why I keep this tree bumblebee in captivity, you can do it HERE just read (the blue word HERE is clickable).

In captivity

I think my bumblebee is doing well under the circumstances, although, of course, she would much rather live in the great outdoors, where she can fly from flower to flower and live in a colony of peers. Unfortunately, flying is no longer an option for her because of her wounded wings, so she probably wouldn't survive in the great outdoors either. She would be easy prey for other predators and, to be honest, I just can't afford to leave that little creature to fend for herself in such a way.

Fresh flowers and plants

In my previous update, you could already read that she switched from dandelions to white dead nettle, which she absolutely loves. Missed this post? Read HERE even with.

Every day, she gets fresh flowers and plants twice a day to provide her with the necessary pollen and nectar. Currently, this is mainly white dead nettle, dandelion, giant marguerite, Whitsun flower, red clover, cowweed, creeping sea green, Spanish hyacinth, daisy and ivy. I'm trying to find new varieties to offer, but that's not always so obvious. And of course, she also has her favorites.

Can you spot my tree bumblebee in the photo below?
