My daily reminder is not so black and white

My daily reminder is not as black and white as in the photo. This piece of art (because I think it is) hangs next to my desk. It is handicrafts (artisanally made from cans) made in Ghana and I have it for centuries. Okay, now I'm exaggerating because I'm not that old. Although, of course, it also depends on who will judge it. But I don't think I'm that old. But I do scissors this under my art. Maybe it's not art with a big K, but in my opinion it is absolutely art and I am reminded every day that art can be so important in someone's life. Sometimes because it's just beautiful but sometimes because of the symbolism behind it (even though the creator probably didn't have that in mind). My own reuse is also good but I do not master this kind of crafts anyway.

The people who have read my blogs often know that I love reuse and this is a good example of that. I once bought it in the world store and there is fairshare at the top of the list so this bus reminds me every day that we (I read) have to deal more consciously with it and the earth and that we should rather be for each other: fairshare.

Later in my life when I was no longer so happy with my relationship, I went to a coach and he gave me a nice metaphorical question. She asked me, “Who is behind the wheel of the bus I was driving?” Yes, think carefully about this question! For me this was a question that came in at least and the answer was an eye-opener. So this bus regularly makes me ask this question to myself. Am I still at the wheel myself? Do I still decide my own trip?

And then I come to the last point why this little work is so important to me. It stands for traveling, exploring the world, getting inspiration, going into nature, meeting people, seeing art and art and it stands for culture. The three key words for me summarizes it: nature, culture and art. Without these 3 in my life, I don't like anything “an”. I like to be on the road, so for that reason alone, I really want us to get Covid-19 down. The limitations - which I really understand and support - have a tremendous impact on my personal life and goals.

So my daily black and white is not so black and white actually.

die bus van blik zo leuk. Ik heb jaren geleden voor mijn kleinkinderen zo'n blikken bus voor aan de muur meegenomen uit Zuid Afrika. Ik herkende het plaatje gelijk.
