My experiences with the Quatt hybrid heat pump (including updates)

In this blog, I would like to share my experiences with Quatt . Quatt is an affordable, quiet and hybrid heat pump that also looks good. Quatt is currently the largest installer of hybrid heat pumps in the Netherlands. With the energy transition that is needed, a hybrid heat pump is a good option for more and more people. The idea is that you can drastically reduce gas consumption with such a heat pump. This saves costs and is also good for the climate. The Quatt is competitively priced. See image below the post comparing prices. In addition: in the Netherlands, you also get almost half of the purchase back through subsidies.

October 2023 - Yeah! After half of the month of October, the stove 'finally' comes on. That's exciting, because for the first time I hear and see the Quatt unit running on the outside of our house. The sound is really not that bad for me! The consumption data comes in via the app. It is a sunny day, so the heat pump runs partly on electricity from the solar panels. Of course, that's what I want! The app shows that I immediately saved some gas in the first two days. That feels good. An update with longer-term statistics will follow later.

September 2023 - That's nice, within about 2-3 weeks, the subsidy amount (about half of the total price) will be in my account. I had almost nothing to worry about handling the subsidy myself. Went through a grant agency. All I had to do was provide some basic information and everything else was arranged.

August 2023 - The time has finally come. Before the installation day, I myself (with some help) built an additional group of 20 amps for the heat pump. Materials have been delivered before. The mechanics are two nice men, who speak English well. At 8 am, they get to work diligently, even though it's super hot. It will all be completed at about 3 in the afternoon. What is striking: everything is neatly finished, the mess has been cleaned up and I received a short explanation of how it works. It becomes most concrete with the app that allows you to control the Quatt and view consumption. A small disadvantage: it's still far from the weather to turn on the heat pump. It's still a while to wait for consumption data.

May 2023 - For a long time, I have been “kept warm” by Quatt newsletters with updates, about the growth from start-up to scale-up, more than 1000 installations and AI. Now there's really going to be an installation interview. Handy; I already have to take photos & videos of the situation via a form. During a digital video call, we go through all the ins and outs of the installation. The Quatt employee thinks along with me about my wishes regarding. placement, planning and technical requirements. After the interview, I receive a nice quote that calculates the costs, but also the likely savings. That looks good. I have agreed.

April 2022 - I signed up via the Quatt website. Been looking at it for a bit longer and I've signed up now. The Quatt is still being developed as we speak, so it's a pre-registration. If you - if you read this now - you log in, it will be a little faster.
