My Friends laughed at me when I said All India Radio hired me for a show. They thought I was bluffing and even my Elder brother told me it's all Fake so avoid all this. Getting such statements didn’t demotivate me as I went there, completed the show, and they gave me the amount on the next day. But how I was selected or who gave me this Opportunity? This is another beautiful and memorable journey for me and I will give credit to my College Friend (Harsh Vardhan) here.


In 2016, when I was studying in College, my Best Friend (Harsh Vardhan) said, “You wouldn’t believe what just happened a few minutes ago. I got a call from an All India Radio show and they told me to perform on the Topic “Friendship”. Now I have to write an incredible script for that.” My Friend shared a Whole process of how All India Radio Akashvani selected him.

I went back home and the whole day I was thinking if he can do this then why not me. No matter whether they select me or not, I must go for an Audition there. You wouldn’t believe what happened on the same night. My Friend Called me and said, “Listen, the All India Radio Akashvani is looking for more candidates and without asking from you I have given your Name and Phone number. Will you do this?” I laughed and said YES. I kept myself busy writing a script for the Audition and the next day, I got a call from there and they told me to come on Saturday (I remember the Day).

Excitement or Nervous? What do you think? To be honest I was very excited but deep inside a bit nervous because I had no idea how to show your best on an audition. Even my Friend was there but nevertheless, I didn’t share my feelings with anybody. After waiting for an hour, they said “Mayank, now it's your turn so please Come”. With a big smile and a bit nervous, I went to an Audition room and Spoke the whole script. The day before the audition, I saw many videos of how a Radio jockey performs. I will not say I gave the Next-level audition but according to my experience, I did well. Do you know what feedback I received? You are a little bit loud, you should come with good practice, etc. Eventually, they said we will call you tomorrow for Final result.




I lost all my Hopes but Friend said, “Let’s see what happens'' and I guess a miracle happened because they called me the next day and said we select you too for the show. So please come next week with your script and your topic is “PARENTS”. I talked to my Friend whether he said something about me or did something for selection. His words, “Not at all, It's not my Company bro.” That was Good news for me so I shared it with my other friends and they laughed.
