My old sewing machine
Sometimes things from the past are so old that they get worn or broken. Or simply that they are in need of renewal.
I also have such an old animal in the house. My sewing machine. I bought it second-hand more than 30 years ago. And he wasn't that young at the time, but he was affordable for me.
But I did everything I could. still. I work on it wonderfully. And despite the fact that he occasionally drops a stitch (literally and figuratively), I wouldn't want to trade it in with a new machine. I then leave it to hubby who checks him again and then I can take it again.
The other day he came home with a sew/embroidery machine that he had tapped on the head at the cycle for a tenner. A modern version and a lot younger. He just didn't do it. He checked it with our son and got him back to work.
The switch trick could take place. But I didn't want to trade in my old animal. So this working sewing machine was put up for sale and sold with a small profit.
And my old, familiar sewing machine is still showing off on the kitchen table until my studio is ready and can stand there.

Cool! Back then, they were made to last. I have a modern one, for emergencies, rarely use it, so it will last a long time 😇🤣

oh lovely, just be careful. I don't have mine anymore and often just miss a sewing machine.

Those old models are often still doing very well. However, a sewing machine is not for me 😅 I am a needle and thread disaster.😂

Sometimes I have the idea that the old devices continue to function much longer than the newer models.
