I always loved going to school, because school was my paradise. This is where all my friends were, I got good grades and the teachers were always proud of me. However, if you are raised by parents who always tell you, “If you don't finish school, you have no future”, you may panic when things are not going well at school. School is not just about grades, but also about your ability to improve, develop and defend yourself.
Getting good grades is a plus, but you have to remember that's not what life is all about. I was obsessed with getting good grades because I thought my future was fixed. Then I don't have to do anything else to be successful. Man, I was really wrong.
Your degree does not guarantee a job, but your perseverance is.
Don't get me wrong. In any case, I recommend that people finish school. Especially high school, because this is the building block of your future. Some people say that if you don't finish HBO/WO, you can't get a job. That is not the case at all. What they should actually say is: If you don't finish HBO/WO, it's difficult to get a job, but certainly not impossible.
I still hear from a friend of mine who studies Psychology that it is so difficult to find a job, that he is going to study for another year to get his master's.
