#yoorsnovember
November 11 is International Origami Day celebrated. This date was established by the Japanese community, coinciding with the establishment of the crane as a symbol of world peace.
The distinctive feature of origami compared to other types of origami is that the design of the piece starts from a base, usually square or rectangular. Folds can be simple for less difficult parts, or complex depending on the desired result.
The aim of this art is to model the environment around us, the flora and fauna of the continents, urban life and the tools that are part of our everyday life.
As most believe, origami is a technique of Japan's own. But it is truly native to China in the 1st and 2nd century AD. He later became part of Japanese culture in the 6th century.
In Japan it's much more than just an art. It is a symbol of identity. So much so that during the period of the classical Japanese era it represented a symbol of nobility that only people of good economic position could access.
