Origin of footwear

#history Footwear is believed to have existed since about the end of the Paleolithic period (10,000 BC).) because there are paintings showing how leather (and more specifically footwear) was worked. It was very common to walk barefoot and use shoes only in extreme cases (when leaving home).

Even then, the shoe was not only used to protect the feet, but it was a symbol that marked differences between human beings.

In Egypt, only Pharaoh and dignitaries were allowed to wear shoes.
