Our beautiful Basilica

From Caracas, passing through the island of Margarita, we are located in the Zulia state precisely in the municipality of Maracaibo.
This Basilica located in the heart of the city of Maracaibo, is built in honor of the Virgin of Chiquinquirá, patron saint of the State of Zulia.
Inside, it houses the venerated relic of the region, consisting of the miraculous little tablet where the Virgin appeared in 1709 to a washerwoman named Maria Cárdenas.
Its construction has varied over the years, from being a modest clay hermitage dedicated to San Juan de Dios in 1686 to the majestic basilica of the present, with 3 naves and 2 towers.
Today it is one of the main religious sites in Venezuela, welcoming every November 18 more than 100,000 people, who fervently attend the procession of the Virgin.
