Our lawn, at the end of September...
After yet another dry summer, where the lawn looked more like the savannah, followed by a winter where it turned to moss, we decided last spring to sow a mix of flowers and let things go.

It wasn't immediately a huge success.
At first, it stayed too cold for a long time. The northern wind blew brightly. Weeks in a row.
When it finally got warm enough, a dry spell broke out.
The seeds remained. Nothing germinated.
