Owl cuddly toy made of felt
The picture book This is owl ( Libby Walden / Veltman Publishers ) is one of the 10 picture books of the Voorleesdagen 2021. Reading aloud becomes so much more fun if you also have a real owl! That's why we made Owl from felt. Very easy, you know.! Do you want to make it too? Then you will find the pattern below. Just print out, cut out and cut the parts out of felt patches.
Felt is super handy to make a nice cuddle. It does not fray, so no hemming is necessary. The needle goes in smoothly, so also for children a fun job. And the result is always very nice! You can not or do not want to sew, you can also use ordinary textile glue. Glue the edges, press on and after 10 minutes it is fine! As a filler, you can use different materials. Filling wool, fiberwool, cushion filling, cotton balls, snow blanket, you name it!
Free printable: Save the image first so that you can print out the pattern from the saved folder. You will also need 3 colors of felt patches, brown and white yarn and 1 needle, scissors, a pair of head pins and 2 white chenille threads for the legs. Don't you have that? Then cut out of white felt 2 legs. Then your owl just has funny fluttering feet!
Cut out the parts and pin them on the felt. You pin the belly on double felt.
Cut out the parts with good, sharp scissors.
