Ellen spends two weeks in isolation. The loneliness of her early childhood comes to the surface in a painful way. Just as Pietje experiences it, Satan also hits Ellen's mind, but what likes to do.
It slowly penetrates to her that Pietje and Judith are now in isolation because of her actions. She tries to negate the negative consequences of that with a real spell. Even though I'm Ellen Woudloper, I declare that Judith and Pietje will leave me alone.
