Derry, a small town in Maine, inspires tranquility and monotony since it is a town and really life there is usually somewhat calm, where almost everyone knows each other, but it still changes until a series of murders take place in it. What may in principle seem simple crimes of a serial killer, give way to something more sinister when you are aware that a clown, who lives in the sewers, is the common denominator of all murders. No one in town seems to notice what is happening and how so many children have disappeared, except for a group of children, united by their status as “losers”, who will see what others unfortunately do not realize.
Now talking about the movie Does it get over the first version? Without a doubt we are facing a bit more crude version, and not just because of the beginning where we can observe a bloody and unexpected scene, that although we live before a society that has lost its sensitivity to things. Therefore, this favors it since its modern version has more that touch of rawness, which also allows this is that it was possible to take advantage of the effects and technological advances of cinema. What its old version does not enjoy, even so I do not consider that its remake exceeds it, although it does meet the expected and it is very good.
Tim Curry or Bill Skarsgård?
There is no doubt that Tim Curry made a spectacular performance, you are really impressed with his acting talent as it generates fear in the form of the clown, in fact it is said that on the recording set many did not want to get close because it generated terror in just his presence. Although his makeup is more of the typical party clown, and it is there that in that simplicity he makes him scary.
On the other hand Bill Skarsgård brings us something new, a more make-up and creepy clown just seeing him, without a doubt you see the preparation work before embodying the famous clown of the village of Derry.
If you haven't seen them, I invite you to see their two versions and comment on it.
