#1review

I'm not sure what it is about the summer sun, but somehow I tend to pull out the classics again and immerse myself in Victorian England.

They all pass the review from time to time, but Anne Eliot and Captain Wentworth are my favourites somewhere.
This is the last book written by this fantastic writer and released after her death. and maybe a little undervalued because of this.

Until recently, my now 17 year old daughter thought that I was only reading old things. After a long debate, she has read a work by Jane Austen. Her conclusion. “Mom, who wrote more than 200 years ago about things like Bridgerton and stuff. and sometimes even better '. I love it when I can chat with my daughter like that and she realizes that today's chick lit is often a bland decoction of the classics of that time. If, for the sake of fairness, I have to add that sometimes there are also gems in between.

But back to Persuasion. For those who are not familiar with the storyline, I can only say one thing. READ IT. This poem about Frederick Wentworth's feelings came about after reading the book this summer.
In the meantime, the necessary film adaptations have also been made. Recently released by Netflix and now available on that channel. However, if you want to see a really good film adaptation, I recommend the 1995 and 2007 versions. beautifully just.

I've been at sea
sick to the stomach, down on my knee

I have been on land
weak in my knees, not able to walk through the sand

In a safe port. or out on the open ocean
everything hurts and is in a rapid motion.

It took me 8 years. and more
going from shore to shore
to realize I am not seasick nor sick on land
,,, I'm just homesick. homesick, to hold your hand.
