PETITION: Stop Bullfighting Now!
Imagine being tied down, challenged, and ultimately killed for the amusement of others. Unfortunately, this is the reality for thousands of bulls who are killed annually in bullfighting arenas around the world. Bullfighting is a cruel and unnecessary practice that should have no place in modern society. That is why I call on everyone to petition of PETA to draw and end this barbaric 'spectacle'.
What is bullfighting?
Bullfighting, or “corrida de toros” as it's called in Spain, is a traditional ritual where a bull is fought by a torero or matador in an arena. It is a centuries-old tradition in countries such as Spain, Portugal, France and some Latin American countries. Although some consider it a cultural heritage, it is actually a form of animal abuse where the bulls suffer severe physical and mental pain.

The cruelty behind the scenes
What the audience doesn't see is the intensive preparation that bulls undergo before entering the arena. Bulls are often weakened by substances, locked in dark spaces to disorient them, and even subjected to physical abuse to make them weaker. During the fight, they are repeatedly stabbed with spears and swords, causing them terrible pain and ultimately death. All of this happens to the cheers of spectators, which makes this practice even more disturbing.
By the way, did you know that a Spanish bullfighting management firm promotes free bullfighting tickets for children under 8 years old? This is a desperate attempt to attract more spectators to the barbaric slaughter of bulls in the Maestranza in Seville.
