35 mm
This book takes a look at the basic principles of photography, including the choice of the right camera for your needs, the use of filters and fill lights, the lens that best suits each shot, as well as a number of more specialized issues. But this work is not limited to only the most basic aspects, but also provides current data on the latest developments in the field of photography and its retouching to help you take the next step.
The 35mm format, or simply 35mm, is the common name for a film format or 24 × 36 mm image sensor format used in photography. It has an aspect ratio of 3:2, and a diagonal size of approximately 43 mm. It has been used in countless photographic applications including telemetric cameras (film and digital), mirrorless digital cameras, digital reflex cameras, compact cameras and disposable film cameras.
The also called photo format measures 24 × 36 mm. It got its name 35 mm wide from the 135 format film.
The format was originally created by Oskar Barnack with the introduction of his Leica camera in the 1920s.[1] For this reason, it is sometimes called Leica format [2] or Barnack format.[3] The name 35 mm originates from the full width of the 135 film format, the perforated film cartridge that was the main medium until the invention of full-frame DSLRs. The term format 135 is kept in use. In digital photography, the format has become known as full frame, full frame, FF or FX, the latter being a registered trademark of Nikon. Historically the 35mm format is sometimes called thumbnail format [4] or small format, [5] to differentiate them from medium and large formats.
