I sometimes like to buy a pot plant instead of flowers for a spot in my living room.
When I do I usually go for either a rose bush with those mini roses or otherwise the Amaryllis.
I did a quick search and according to google these plants are native to South Africa and to Peru.

I have a few in the garden now, because when they are done flowering in the pot I usually replant them in the garden.

This one was really special this season.
