Pippi Longstocking (original title: Pippi Långstrump) is a Swedish television series based on Astrid Lindgren's Pippi Langkous books. The first episode appeared on February 8, 1969, and the television series began with one season of 13 episodes in 1969, then the season was edited and released as two feature films in 1969: Pippi Longstocking and Pippi disembarked. These films received two follow-up films in 1970: Pippi in Taka-Tukaland and Pippi sets things apart. These two follow-up films were then edited in eight episodes, as the second season originally aired from 1970 to 1971, making the television series run originally from 1969 to 1971.
