Plastic. Fantastic. Not.
Plastic, it has been a great invention and for many things it can still be very useful in use. I do not think we can completely abandon the use of plastic. At least not within a very short term. And if you can reuse products made of plastic then maybe it's not so bad that it's there. But what I personally have trouble with are plastic products that you can only use 1x. And with me, more people think that's superfluous and a bad thing. So I try to buy products as often as possible without disposable plastic, but that is so difficult. Although I have been doing this for years, I will soon start consuming a month without plastic. I have a large family and I sincerely wonder how I am going to get this done and whether we can eat varied, for example. I am now in the preparatory phase so we are going to see it and I will also share my experiences with the world.
Politics also believe that we should make less use of disposable plastic. And that is a good thing but... yes, here comes the but... in my opinion the responsibility for it is far too much if not especially only to the user and I think that is a bad thing. Plastic bags can no longer be given free of charge in a store. You can buy them there. The reason for this is that they want to motivate consumers to bring reusable bags with them when they are going to get groceries. That's not a bad thing at all but what I find very strange is that when you go shopping in the supermarket you can hardly get that reusable bag filled without products that are not packed in plastic. I really fear my trial month in that regard. I do not live in a big city where the eco supermarkets shoot like mushrooms and small businesses have small shops where you can go with your own boxes and bottles to get groceries. But that aside.
The responsibility for a disposable plastic free world lies not only with the consumer. But also among producers and brokers such assupermarketsand food companies, and I believe that Politics should finally take steps in that. If they were to fight the same thing as they were fighting against the banning of cigarettes and fireworks and other things, I think that would be a good thing and a lot more effective. But I think they consider economic interests more important than the environment that we all have to deal with.
I want to be able to swim again in water without plastic, I want to be able to walk again without seeing litter around me and I just want to be able to meet my basic necessities without having to do some kind of scientific study where I can buy it without plastic. around and I don't want to take responsibility for that alone.
And that's why I signed the Greenpeace petition because yes! I want a world without disposable plastic.
De petitie getekend en ik ga je post delen.
