Esta es la plaza Bolivar mas importante del país. Situada en el centro histórico de la parroquia Catedral del municipio Libertador, en la manzana central de las 25 con las que fue creada Santiago de León de Caracas en 1567.
El 7 de noviembre de 1874 se inauguro la estatua ecuestre del Libertador Simón Bolívar en el centro de la plaza con el repique de campanas y 21 cañonazos.
Es una plazs que esta rodeada de los lugares historicos de las ciudad y de algunos de los mas importantes de Venezuela.

The Federal Legislative Palace is in the south-west.
