Pleated Inkcap (Parasola Plicatilis)
#nature #mushrooms Also known as Little Parasol, Little Japanese Umbrella or Japanese Umbrella Inky, this mushroom is an extremely delicate species that grows in the evening after the rain has fallen. The fruit body of the pleated inkcap grows, sheds its spores and decays within 24 hours. Habitat: The small, umbrella-shaped mushroom can be found in open areas with short grass and direct sunlight, including meadows, lawns and areas with wood chips. Their favourite food is dung and decomposing plant matter. The pleated inkcap is usually 1-3.5cm across, with a greyish white cap and sometimes a yellowish brown center.
