Popular Art Styles and Movements
There are different styles and movements of art made throughout history that follow different philosophies and ideas. The different artistic styles can be combined with collective themes and called as artistic movements.

Abstract Expressionism:
The term ‘Abstract Expressionism’ encompasses many forms of 20th-century American artistic movements of abstract art. The movement is also called as the New York School and includes sculptures, large painted canvas, and other media. The term of ‘action painting’ is also linked with Abstract Expressionism, which describes the powerful and aesthetic use of brushes strokes and the effects of dripping and spillage of paint on canvas.
Art Deco:
The Art Deco originated in France before the First World War and exploded in 1925 during the exhibition of decorative arts. Art Deco includes different lines of arts from architecture and furniture to textiles and jewelry. Art Deco combines modern beauty with sophisticated craftsmanship, advanced technology, and fine materials.
Avant-garde:
In French, avant-garde refers to “advanced guard”. Avant Garde refers to the new ideas or experiments, works and group or people that produce them, especially in the cultural, political, and artistic spheres.
