Hello, my arrangement for guitar of Por una Cabeza. In few words about this tango:
"Por una cabeza" by Carlos Gardel. The melody, the title of which translates as "Losing my head", was written in 1935. But the composition became famous after it sounded in the film "Scent of a Woman". The magnificent dance performed by Al Pacino and Gabrielle Anwar to the melancholy violin fascinates and remains in the memory forever.
About Carlos Gardel:
Carlos Gardel came to Buenos Aires when he was two years old. In his youth he became famous in the clubs and cafes of the barrios (neighborhoods) of Buenos Aires for his performance of well-known folk songs as a duet with José Razzano. But in the 1920s he gradually moved on to singing only the tango, raising it to unprecedented heights of fame with his singing. Known as El Zorzal Criollo, the songbird of Buenos Aires, Carlos Gardel is a legendary figure in Argentina. Born in France, the charming singer's career coincided with the birth and development of the tango (the folk music and dance of Buenos Aires neighborhoods), this cultural icon of Argentina that expressed its essence. Gardel composed the music himself, inventing the tango zong, which immediately became the most popular hit in Latin America. The elite overcame their aversion to the commonplace originals of the tango and opened their arms only when the composer and his music were already widely accepted in New York and Paris.
