The most important thing in portrait photography is your aperture. With a large aperture (small value, between F 28 and F 4), the background becomes blurred and your model is beautifully free from the background.
What's important in a portrait?
When taking a good portrait photo, the division of the photo is extremely important. Don't leave too much space above the head. If you see too much background, position your model so that the photo makes the model speak. Focus on the eyes and, if possible, use soft light .

It is a nice model in the picture but the cut is not quite right + You forget another important tip and that is that lighting also plays an important role in this.
