The Power of the Individual

The Earth adorns itself
Each day
With a crown
Two parts:
Magnificence and Might

Morning and Night,
This world
Exceeds its splendor
Breaking
The limits of infinity

A tragedy-
Should such splendor
Disappear
The Earth becomes
Abridged

Ridged
Futures as the
Generations read
The shortened
Piece

Isn't it interesting how often life is out of our control, and yet so much also is? Perhaps it's more of a difference in quantity. An individual has no control of life. But humanity? - The world bends to their power. Then again, history is marked with names. Name a figure. They have their statues, their biographies, their admirers, their opponents. But then, they were never alone. And so one wonders to what extent does one have power over life? Well, persuasion is a powerful thing. The ability to change the minds of many, to convince them to your cause, through words, through action, through charisma, those are things that can change the world.
