Project Anartica
What is Project Antarctica about? From 2119 until 2419 at the latest. It reflects on three themes: climate change, colonisation and history. Climate change is the major cause of Antarctic's new habitability. How does climate change radically change our world, while our handling of this change remains to a great extent “the same”? What new rhythms, habits and necessities arise in life on the Arctic Colony, and how eternal forms of injustice continue to exist?
Project Antarctica is an innovative literary project of the Groene Amsterdammer. It describes the history of the colonization of Antarctica from 2119, after a large part of the ice sheets on the continent has melted. What do we learn about ourselves, also about our 'bad self' when a whole new piece of habitable land comes into the sea?
