Promoting fertility in pigs and cows
Our livestock industry uses blood from pregnant horses to promote the fertility of pigs and cows. This is drained with gross force on Icelandic 'blood farms'. Is there somewhere a limit to the animal suffering that we allow for our meat?

Icelandic horses are seriously mistreated
The anxious mares are beaten with wooden sticks and gagged in boxes. There, a thick needle is inserted into their neck that drains their blood to a jerry can. Pure horror! In a period of 10 weeks, each horse drains between 25 and 40 litres of blood. On Icelandic 'bloodfarms', blood is drained with gross force from pregnant mares. New undercover footage reveals these horrific practices come with serious abuse. The blood of pregnant horses contains PMSG, this hormone is used in the European livestock industry to improve the fertility of pigs and cows. Dier&Recht sends a fire letter about these barbaric abuses to the European Commission. We ask the Commission for a ban on production in Europe and for an import ban. Do you also sign?
