Rainy day project (with garlic sauce recipe)

A few weeks ago, I was complaining about the heat. I won't complain about the rainy days we've been having, because my garden is looking and feeling so much better. However, my dogs despise that icky water falling from the sky, and taking them for walks is not something they'll thank me for. So what do I do on rainy days, when my dishes are done, and I don't feel like watching a movie? Look for rainy day projects. Our tiny cabin does not promote crochet projects, as I don't have a way to properly store yarn and stuff. But my rainy day projects vary from ironing (because I have to every once in a while), to food related things like this: cleaning up and repurposing jars.
When you live a paleo lifestyle, or simply try to eat as cleanly as possible, you'll end up making a lot of things from scratch. Mayo. Stock. Seasoning blends. Coffee creamer. You name it. You'll probably be trying to make it at some point. But at some point, you'll also run out of storage containers, as you start making more and more of these basic recipes that make your cooking so much easier, or yummier.
I ran into this problem rather quickly into my paleo journey, and started saving and repurposing the glass jars and bottles I had from things like olives and tomato sauce, and coconut oil. A lot of labels come off pretty easily if you soak them overnight in some soapy water, but some types of glue leave a sticky, yucky residue, that seems almost impossible to remove.
