Real fun jokes don't offend...
There is a BIG difference between a joke and a disrespectful statement shrouded in a joke. It's really NOT funny to laugh at someone because of their body, view, religion, orientation, or beliefs.
THAT'S INSULTING.
A lot of polomics has occurred in the Netherlands because a 19-year-old young woman with superqualities and slightly rounder shapes is literally razed to the ground. just because of her appearance.
Personally, I don't know this girl, but she seems like a very happy girl with a good brain and probably a whole lot of other qualities. However, this is hardly looked at. because all they talk about is her weight.
This is probably the story of many young Dutch ladies.
The lady in question, however, will eventually be crowned Queen of the Netherlands if all goes well. This makes the whole story even sadder. Because, on the one hand, she is the crown princess, but she also remains just a young girl on the verge of adulthood. The fact that she is constantly in the media in such a way must be particularly painful and can be devastating to her self-image. Of course, I do not mean that it is less bad for an unknown young adult from Maastricht, for example. The consequences can go a long way for both of them and it just shouldn't happen in either situation.
What makes this even more tragic, however, is that everyone knows Princess Amalia. Everyone has an opinion about her and this is discussed in the media in such a way that other girls in her situation see this and feel even more inferior. After all, if the princess is mocked like that. .
No one is perfect and everyone is so much more than that one aspect mentioned.
So why focus on one aspect of someone and mock it. while you don't know that person at all for the rest.
Take a look more often at someone's qualities and what they actually have to say instead of external aspects or beliefs.
Take a look at the content and not what is only visible on the surface. Because often, someone's appearance is the least interesting part of being
personality.

One cannot stop making insulting jokes, because that phenomenon does not exist. By definition, if something is offensive, it is not funny.

You're 100% right, of course, and you probably didn't mean it like that, but “not looking at someone's appearance and only at someone's qualities and what they actually have to say” doesn't mean it's okay to laugh at someone's mental incapacity.

I agree with you on this. I also don't like insulted jokes at all and never actually do it myself. But I think this is also a bit more common with today's youth, because they learn from each other.

People still bully each other because of deviations from the general norms. They depend on appearance. As if that's the only thing that matters. A real shame for the Dutch princess and all the young girls who are also charged for their appearance.
