Cabimeras Arepas is a super delicious and easy to make recipe, it is originally from Cabimas, Edo Zulia, Venezuela, and it is a dish whose main tasting is arepa.

This dish is very different from those normally served on tables in that country, since it contains various ingredients that make this dish unique and different from the others, below we will show you step by step how this delicious recipe is made.


Recipe for Arepa Cabimera

Ingredients

For the dough

400 grams of pre-cooked cornmeal
1 ½ cup of water
1 teaspoon of salt


For the filling

¼ kilo of shredded meat
4 slices of cooked ham on the back
4 hand cheese slices
Boiled eggs cut into slices 4 units
Tomato sauce (ketchup) to taste
Mayonnaise to taste
Oil c/n

Preparation

The first thing you need to do is the mass of the arepas. To do this, place the flour together with the salt in a bowl, pour in the water little by little and knead until you get a smooth dough.

Form 4 balls and then flatten them with the palms of your hands to a thickness of 1 cm.

Then heat a frying pan with plenty of oil. Once the temperature has risen, immerse the arepas and let them fry until golden brown on both sides. Remove them and place them on absorbent paper.

Then place each arepa on a plate and cut them into 4 portions. Place on top of them a ham and cheese market, a portion of shredded meat and the egg. Add the amount of sauces of your choice.

Serve very warm and taste. You can also add avocado, tomatoes, onions or the complement of your choice.
