Fancy a savory vegetarian bite, but little desire to stand in the kitchen for a long time? The fun and easy thing about plate pies is that the preparation is fairly fast and you can put everything on it. It just depends on what you feel like. If you can't figure it out yourself, there are plenty of recipes on the internet to get ideas. The plate pie of this recipe is filled with vegetarian minced meat, leek, paprika, curry and tomato cubes. The cooking time of the plate pie is about 20 minutes. The recipe is intended for 3 to 4 people.Supplies vegetarian plate cakeFor the vegetarian plate pie you will need:

  • 1 pack of dough slices for savory pie (frozen)
  • Oven
  • Baking paper
  • 250 grams of vegetarian minced meat
  • 1 can of tomato cubes
  • 4 et crème fraiche
  • 1 red onion
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 1 tsp curry powder
  • 1 leeks
  • 1 red pepper
  • 150 grams of grated matured cheese
  • pinch of table salt
  • pinch of pepper

The preparation
Savoury pie dough
The bottom of the plate cake consists of ready-made savory cake dough, which can be found in the freezer compartment of the supermarket. Alternatively, you could choose puff pastry. A difference is that savory pie dough is less airy and fatter than puff pastry. Take a baking sheet and put a sheet of baking paper on it. Then spread the dough slices of savory pie on the baking paper. After the dough is thawed, press the dough slices together with your fingers or with a fork. Then, with a fork, pierce several holes in the dough. The edges of the dough can be turned one turn inward. In the meantime, preheat the oven (electric oven at 180 °C and the convection oven at 160 °C).

The Filling
The filling of the plate pie consists of a layer of crème fraiche with red onion, garlic, leek, red pepper, tomato cubes and a layer of grated matured cheese on top. Leek
The green part at the top of the leek can be cut away. The lower part (approx. 2 cm) of the leek can also be cut away. Then remove the outer layer of the leek. The leeks can then be cut lengthwise by middle. Wash the layers of the leek, as there may be sand between them. The leek can then be cut into half rings. If you want the leek to be cut more finely, then the half leek can be cut lengthwise to cut quarter rings. Wash the pieces of leeks in a colander, so you can be sure that all the sand is out.

Red pepper
Wash the red pepper. Cut away the upper part of the red pepper and then cut the bell pepper lengthwise. Remove the seeds on the inside of the paprika with your hand or a knife. The bell pepper is cut into small cubes for this recipe. Cut the bell pepper into pieces about 1 by 1 cm.

Finish Filling
Put the olive oil in the frying pan. When the olive oil is well warm, first add the chopped red onion for fruiting (yarn). Once the onion is well cooked, add the garlic. After the garlic has been cooked, add the vegetarian mince to stir fry with a pinch of salt and pepper. After about 4 minutes, the pieces of leek and red pepper can be added, stir fry for about 5 minutes on a medium fire. Finally, add the tomato cubes and curry to finish the filling. Put the stuffing on for 5 minutes on a low heat setting and stir occasionally.

Get Started
After finishing the filling, the plate pie can be built up. To begin with, lubricate the crème fraiche over the bottom of the savory pie dough. On the cream fraiche can then distribute the filling. After that, add the grated matured cheese. The savory pie can now be put in the oven. The electric oven can be set at 180 °C and the convection oven at 160 °C with a baking time of about 30 minutes.

Optional
Green linens
Instead of vegetarian minced meat, you could also add green lentils to the filling of the plate pie. For quick preparation, you can add ready-made green lentils from a can or jar (available at the supermarket). The cooking time of dried green lentils varies between 20 and 60 minutes, it is recommended to follow the guidelines of the respective packaging. Wash the green lentils well, before cooking them.

Herbal butter (recipe)
On the edges of the savory pie you can lubricate herb butter. If you want to make the herb butter yourself, then its preparation will take about 5 minutes. For its preparation you will need:
  • 50 grams of herb butter
  • half clove of garlic chives (about 4 strips)
  • half a teaspoon of lemon juice
  • half a teaspoon of salt and pepper

Preparation of herb butter
Let the cream butter soften well, grate half garlic clove and wash and chop the chives. Add the grated half garlic clove, chives, lemon juice and salt and pepper. Stir the herb butter well and then lubricate it on the edges of the savory pie. The remaining herb butter can be distributed over the cheese of the plate cake.
