Recipe tip from Mrs. Dot... Birds nests in tomato sauce...
Today I make birdnests, no, rest assured, there is no bird in it, though... the egg yes that comes from a chicken. I make them a little different from my mother myself, but it remains tasty, especially with fresh tomato sauce and mashed potatoes. A hearty dish to lick your thumbs and fingers.
What do we need?
1 kg mixed minced meat or peasant mince
5 eggs
Spices to taste (I like to use tarragon, but you can also use basil or oregano or something like that)
Breadcrumbs
400 g frozen vegetables for tomato soup
1 L passata
Look
Butter and/or olive oil
Water
Pepper and salt
Tabasco (possibly)
