With this dish, most people immediately think about the very familiar dish with chicory, but what if you are not such a fan of chicory? Well... then you just use another vegetable.
For example, I love green peas, but also leeks can best be white celery or spinach. Just pre-cook the fresh vegetables so you don't have to put the casserole in the oven for too long to make your vegetables cooked because you probably have a black cheese crust! Some vegetables can of course also be found in canned (like the green beans I use in this recipe) then do not need to be pre-cooked.
