Just a video

Lubenice is a remote, very old village on a 380 m high hill.

There is only one road that runs there, which is very narrow for miles. The road winds through the landscape. In itself, this is not so special, were it not for the fact that the road is flanked on both sides by a wall of stacked stones that should keep the sheep off the road. That wall is right next to the road, giving you the idea that you can't swerve at all if an oncoming vehicle hits. Because of the walls, you can't see them coming at the curves either, because they are over a meter high.

But it's worth it. The village is very old and it seems like time has stopped there. It has been around for about 4,000 years and still has buildings, parts of which date back to the Romans.

Lubenice also has a beautiful beach, which can only be reached on foot (but you need to be adventurous) or by boat. The beach is actually a bit lower
On the video you can see it lying in the depths. The descent starts where I was filming.
We start another conversation with a local resident. We ask her if there is artisan sheep cheese for sale somewhere.
But what does it appear ? No one milks the sheep anymore, which roam freely scattered around the island. That was because that was done by hand. The younger population does not want to do this anymore. So we only work with the wool. Mutton is also still available.

After our visit to Lubenice, we drive back along the road with the walls, hoping that we will not encounter any oncoming traffic.
