Religious Syncretism

Thinking about a topic to share with my yoors friends I remembered a very studied and little-known concept in religion which I perform in the following summary
Syncretism occurs when two different religious, cultural or political traditions mix and form something new. Where else has occurred however it is in religion where we often encounter cases in which religious beliefs are mixed between different religions
Syncretism is more of a “melting pot”. Take two or more concepts and reposition them as an innovative idea. The “new idea” contains clear elements of the original concepts. Syncretism is evident in all cultures but is given in a very special way in religion.
A clear example of religious syncretism that will allow us to understand what corresponds to it we find in the Easter bunny and the decoration of eggs whose holiday is usually celebrated coinciding with the time when the death and resurrection of Jesus is commemorated or also, we can say that a religious syncretism occurs at Christmas. when Santa Claus is mixed, gifts and other Christmas traditions marketed with the birth of Jesus.
Although interreligious syncretism is something that has apparently occurred since ancient times, it is often said that it occurred when the Catholic Church tried to win over the followers of paganism, who were reluctant to renounce their ancient gods and practices. Instead of using force, the church decided to use appropriation by renaming pagan holidays and symbolism to reflect Christian themes. Thus, the clearest examples of Christian celebrations with pagan roots are those already mentioned: Easter and Christmas but also considered religious syncretism the celebration of Halloween .
However, Christianity is not the only religion that uses syncretism. It is evident in all religions of the world. There are Indonesian Muslims who combine Islam with their native cultural and religious traditions, the mixture of Shinto and Buddhist traditions in Japan and touches of Babylonian mythology in the Old Testament of the Bible.

Interesting although I do not comapardo much this ideal, when you say about hallowen in the catholic church celebrate the day of the dead so it is also a syncretism
