ONE MONTH LATER
Renesmee Cullen

For some, the day was too cold. But for Jacob and I - two young supernatural creatures in their own world - it was perfect.

The snow had accumulated the previous night and I was sure that all youth would be outside playing with it and making snowmen and memories they would tell their future children about.
With permission from my grandpa, Jacob was allowed to have his therapy sessions earlier in the morning so that we could spend more time together.

We were lying down in the snow, wiggling around to form snow angels. Jacob was telling me jokes and sharing the latest news from La Push. I had missed his bright smile. While he claimed he was feeling better (and we could see that), it didn't mean that the pain was gone forever. But I knew that with hard work and dedication, Jacob would be able to build a future for himself despite the obstacle he was facing.

Unexpectedly, his voice quieted down from the booming laughter just seconds ago and he jumped on his feet, almost ruining his snow angel. I followed him to the highest hill we could find. I wondered why we were there. We usually went there when the sun would set so that we could watch it.

In a sudden, Jacob was on top of the hill, screaming on top of his lungs, carefree, as if he was a child again:

"I CAN BREATHE!"

I couldn't help but laugh happily as he began twirling me around, attempting to dance blues with me. While he wasn't doing a good job, we were still having fun. And that was what mattered.

The person I had fallen in love with was coming back- slowly but surely.

"What are we going to do now?", asked I after a long pathetic attempt to slow dance, not expecting my love's answer to be something as serious as:

"We're going to get married."

Her words left me speechless. To get married? Was she teasing me?

"Give me one good reason why I shouldn't marry you," she spoke, her eyes never leaving mine.

She was right - I couldn't think of any.

She chuckled. "Jake, sometimes you're so silly, in a bad way. No offence."

I still stared in disbelief. What was she trying to tell me? Was I really that dumb? Or worse - blind and deaf?

She laughed even harder. It was confusing and embarrassing at the same time.

"Jake," began Renesmee. "You are here in Alaska and you're willing to live with the pain of rejecting your imprint for the rest of your life," she reached out her hand and grasped mine," To me, that proves how much you love me."

Looking at her warm brown eyes, I realized she was right. She was so right. And she stood on her tiptoes and kissed me, her palm on my cheek, showing me her thoughts. She was sure about all of this. She truly wanted us to get married. She could even have kids. She had discussed it with her grandfather.

So it was possible? We could be a family? If so, then we had to prepare for a bright and dynamic future.

When she pulled away from the kiss, she began dragging me to her house, screaming happily how we had to tell her parents. Oh, joy. They were totally going to kill us both!

Mentally preparing for the biggest argument in my entire life, I stepped into the new Cullen manor, where the parents were waiting for us with arms crossed over their chests and annoyed facial expressions. Full contrast with their colourful entryway. Like the rainbow had vomited.

"Jacob," hissed Edward. He had read our thoughts. Of course, he would.

"Don't blame him, dad!" , Renesmee stepped in front of me to defend us. Alas, an argument started. Just what I was most afraid of.

"You can't get married now, you're too inexperienced!", muttered he.

"Who said I was going to marry now?"

Both me and Bella tried not to let them argue. I couldn't imagine if they squabbled at each other. A father and a daughter. Unbelievable.

My predictions of a fight didn't happen luckily. Instead, something even more unexpected happened at that moment.

"Well," Edward stuttered. I nearly laughed. I had never seen a vampire being nervous. "You have my blessings, I guess?"

That was enough for my love to squeal again and to dare me into a snowball fight to celebrate our future together. From now on, the snow was our symbol, our own tiny memory of that perfect day. Of the beginning of our new life.
