Requiem: Chapter 36
It had rewarded the effort. Michael had posted himself at night in an unmarked autobot across the street from the apartment building where Yukiko Mitsukai and Stephen March were together. He had seen them both enter and knew enough when he watched them for a few minutes. Those two were in love, that was evident from their actions. Stephen's arm over Yukiko Mitsukai's shoulder, the look in the woman's eyes when she looked up at that guy and that fleeting kiss. Michael had a hard time imagining what that was. They were feelings he had never known. Read about it and through films and other less socially acceptable reading material he knew what those two were doing right now. It was a pity he couldn't hear them through the video stick. The idea and the images he got into his head didn't hurt him. It was something he wasn't capable of. Fatuation, what was that sensation? A misplaced sense of affection and dependence towards someone. A series of chemical reactions in the bodies of the couple caused these emotions in such a way that one could no longer do without the other. He could just miss it. He thought it was a sign of physical weakness, a trait that he should never have experienced. The thought alone he found disgusting.
He had heard the voice and he would continue to follow her mission. It was the only one he had ever trusted and he would continue to trust.

Stephen March is the enemy. He must disappear. Michael, listen carefully, he's your priority right now. Kidnap him, torture him if necessary, but don't kill him until we see how much he's found out about the CB project. Try to unleash as much information as possible from him. If necessary, but don't kill him until you've pulled everything out of him that's humanly possible. I will determine when the moment comes and give you my blessing to sacrifice him. But be careful, he is our enemy you must not underestimate!!
