Today I found out that I accidentally bought the wrong tofu at the #ekoplaza . I bought silk tofu instead of “regular “tofu. Silk tofu is soft and therefore more suitable for the preparation of desserts. I did not have time to exchange the tofu anymore, so I decided the recipe “chocolate mousse of silk tofu” from #LekkerWetenzomer of the Ekoplaza. I slightly deviated from the recipe, because I did not have coconut oil.

Supplies

  • Blender
  • Scale
  • Silk tofu (400 g)
  • Raw cocoa powder (3 tbsp)
  • Banana (1)
  • Dates without pit (2)
  • Dark chocolate (100 g)
  • Coconut shreds
  • Dried cranberries
  • Chocolate pieces

My look at the description of the recipe

The description of the recipe was quite clear and useful supplemented by a video, in which the preparation was smoothly presented. The description of the recipe and the video did not explain how to melt dark chocolate 'au bain-marie'. For this explanation I went to search on the internet. In the online #allerhande I had found a good explanation with video. For this method of melting (briefly summarized) you need a saucepan with a layer of boiling water. Then put the chocolate in a bowl that can withstand heat. Keep this bowl above the pan with boiling water, without the bowl touching the water. Then stir the chocolate until it melts. My look at the preparation of the recipe

I found the preparation easy. The blender was ready and in it I put (according to the recipe) the drained silk tofu, cocoa powder, dates, banana and the melted dark chocolate. After I blended the ingredients well, I put the chocolate mousse in a bowl. Unlike the recipe, I happened to have a bag of ready-made grated coconut. I did this as a topping on the chocolate mousse. I had added the topping (apart from the recipe) with a small handful of dried cranberries and pieces of chocolate. After that, I put the chocolate mousse in the fridge for at least half an hour, for the firmness of the structure.

Did I like it?

The taste of the chocolate mousse was delicious. I will definitely make this chocolate mousse again, but then I will add a little more (think of 30 grams) dark chocolate to create a stronger chocolate taste.
