Review: Political Inability by Bart Nooteboom

When you see Bart Nooteboom's beautiful cover of Political Inability, you get the idea that you are going to read a spiritual book. However, the title and subtitle clearly indicate that this is not the case; you know right away that you are going to read a different type of book. The choice for the drawing was also very well chosen, does the drawing match the book.
In Political Inability, Bart Nooteboom explains where the political incapacity comes from, what the reasons are and what can be done about it. The author gives his view and comes up with ways how politics, but also people, citizens, can change, but that does not appear to be one, two, three, for various reasons, that takes some time and will on the part of the people.
It is clear that Bart Nooteboom has thought carefully about everything he wrote in Political Inability, that he did not go overnight. He knows how to substantiate everything he has written down. As a reader, you will not always agree with him; you sometimes have your concerns, such as about the direction where politics is going. One person will be happy about it and can't wait, while the other sees it as a specter and hopes it won't come to that.
