Review “Sister, you look so weird!” by Maria Vroegindeweij

When you see the nice cover of “Sister, how strange do you look!'by Maria Vroegindeweij, you immediately get an idea of what to expect in this book. It's just a question of where the two sisters work. Do they work in a hospital, at a GP office, in a care home or in another institution? You will receive an answer to the question in the subtitle. The title speaks for itself. You know right away that was either said by a patient or someone else. It is quite understandable that the sisters were told that when they had to walk around like that. Even if you don't work in healthcare, you have to deal with both sisters in the picture that they had to look like this at the time. As you can imagine, that must not have always been nice, especially not the face masks in combination with glasses. The photos in the book complete the book. There you can also find the photo that was used for the cover.
In “Sister, how strange do you look!“Maria Vroegindeweij looks back on the first months of the pandemic. As a care worker, she experienced a lot in those months, both fun and unpleasant events, and saw and felt a lot of suffering.
