Her clothes and hair dress show that she is a woman who did not live in the past century, but seems to have lived a few centuries ago. The title makes you curious. The woman who saved Friesland from Sunny Jansen is the biography of Albertine Agnes, Princess of Orange and Countess of Nassau. The biography tells her life story, telling her who her parents were, what kind of family she came from, how she met her husband, about her family, how she first became her son's guardians and eventually regent for Friesland, Groningen and Drenthe, how she finally managed to save Friesland in the disaster year 1672 and how her life went after that. It is an extraordinary life story of an extraordinary woman who, when she really had to, ignored her favorite activities and stood up for Friesland and acted decisively, spoke out what should be done, that it was necessary to ensure that Friesland was not attacked and that Friesland did not become ungovernable.
